Yellow Dog Remains, 2026

Yellow Dog Village is a former company town in Western Pennsylvania built around iron ore mining in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. After the mines closed, the village was abandoned, leaving behind foundations, artifacts, and quiet traces of daily life. This photo book combines my own photographs of the site with archival materials found from the village, creating a dialogue between past and present. By pairing contemporary images with historical fragments, the work reflects on a personal act of noticing and explores how memory continues to live within the landscape.
